Have you ever made a bad decision… if you are human you have, we all have that is how we
learn. As a leader you are in a prime position to demonstrate how to shake off a bad decision
and move on.
My message today is to literally shake it off… like a dog drying itself after a swim. You won’t know how well it works if you don’t try it – that’s right get your whole body into it…
You are shaking off that decision to gain objectivity, thanks for giving it a go.
Now that old decision is over there, where you can walk around it and look at if from different angles and reflect… you may discover how to fix, how to change it, how to leave alone but mostly strive to learn from it.
I was speaking with my dad about this theory and his approach was slightly different – for every bad decision or feelings of “two steps back” was simply an opportunity to reflect and think about what could be done differently – wise words to play with.
For those of you that did try the dog shake, thanks for being bold enough and open enough to giving it go… these are two fabulous traits of a great leader.
